Efforts to abolish arrack and toddy:
Alcoholism destroys the individual as well as the family. The effects of alcoholism on the lives of down trodden people are surmountable. Being in the lowest rung of the society, Arunthathiyar families are fragile to its toll. Arrack and toddy augments alcoholism in the community, as it enables easy access in terms of cost and availability. ATP is currently taking efforts to abolish arrack and toddy in Tamil Nadu. In principle the production of arrack and toddy will push for consumers, therefore ATP is fighting to stop the tapping of these liquors. In this process ATP is organizing various protests and demonstrations all over Tamil Nadu against the tapping and voicing its opinion to abolish arrack and toddy.
